Location: Mountain View Los Altos Union High School District, Mountain View, CA

Project Description: Located on a constrained site, the design for this new 30-meter outdoor pool and weight room maximizes useable space in order to accommodate all the physical education and athletic programs at the high school, while preserving established vehicular and pedestrian routes of travel – a key consideration for the school. The project incorporates sustainable design elements such as building orientation for optimum daylighting, natural ventilation, and the addition of thermal solar panels – mounted on the weight room roof and shade structures at the pool deck – to heat water for the pool. Estimated construction cost is $3.5 million. The project is under construction.
